Why Support Foreign Missions?

Did you know that the U. S. represents 6% of the world’s population and has over 80% of the world’s wealth?

Here are some statistics that help explain the need around the world.

 Resource Allocation- Christians give approximately $160 billion annually to churches and mission agencies while 1% reach the undeveloped world.
 Missionaries- Over 300,000 missionaries work outside of the United States but only 1% work in the undeveloped world.
 Radio and Television- Christians spend $3 billion annually to sponsor TV and radio programs but only $300,000 was spent in the undeveloped world.

 

With these statistics in mind missionaries reach a small portion of the world’s population.
 
The Christian Foundation supporrts effective foreign ministries where the dollar has the most impact. While many ministries are very beneficial, the Foundation could only support a select few. 

Command them to do good, to be rich in good  
deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
